miscellanea
Here, let me try to distract myself with mundanity as I slowly adjust to a Preiss-less world…
1. The Small Press Swap Meet is a cute site for the buying and selling of indy comics related merchandise. I apologize if this is old news. Can I interest you in a cute “I’m Hurting Comics” t-shirt by the lovely Lea Hernandez?
2. That Altoids sour cherry gum is fairly unchewable. Good lord.
3. Cut off all of my hair yesterday, so that picture on the right sidebar is officially outdated. No need to freak out; it’s not that short. It’s back to its usual length. Maybe I’ll take a new picture after the dyejob.
Some old Italian dude at Astor Place wanted my hair for his garden. Apparently, human hair keeps squirrels away. That kind of bugs me out, but I didn’t object.
Enough procrastinating.

Human hair also keeps deer away, so they say. I’ve never tried it. Blood meal works best in flower beds when the tulips are just ready to open up. Deer love to come along and chomp off the flower and leave the stem. This happened to me before I heard about spreading blood meal about on the ground. YOu can buy blood meal at Wal Mart or Home Depot or a gardening store.
Maybe Dad should tie a bag of human hair to the bird feeder. I’ll suggest that!

I don’t know what blood meal is. I’m not sure that I want to know!
If the guy at Astor Place was so into human hair, I’m not sure why he didn’t just sweep a bunch up off the floor. He looked like a guy who was working there, but I guess maybe he was just getting his hair cut. I’ll have to take you by next time you’re in town — the place is ultra-cheap and looks like a barber shop. Serious old skool New Yorkers’ hangout. Definitely not a “sal-on”!
