1. Jury duty has come and gone. Huzzah! I got called, questioned, and summarily dismissed. I have to tell ya, I tried to keep an open mind, I really did. But when push came to shove… no dice.
Also, Nancy T. Sunshine (is that a great name or what?), Kings County Clerk and Commissioner Of Jurors, has asked me to let you all know that there’s Wifi access for your laptop, plenty of computer terminals for email checking (if you don’t want to drag your laptop), and that those awful wooden benches in Rm. 261 (Central Jury) have been replaced by comfy chairs. And once you’re done, you don’t have to do it again for eight years!
In short, Nancy has worked hard to make sure that “jury duty in Brooklyn is no longer like going to the dentist.” So embrace your civic duty, folks!
2. Quick reminder that I’ll be signing with the rest of the ChemSet crew tonight at Hanley’s between 5 and 7 pm (that’s on West 33rd just off 5th opposite the Empire State Building). If you’re around, come on down.
3. Looks like Stephen, fearless WEIRD TALES editor, has put a recent issue up for grabs. Download the complete July/August issue here for free. (It’s got my interview with Mike Mignola.)
4. Last but by no means least, if you’re a holistic practitioner or “soul-preneur” or know one who wants more clients, check out my free introductory teleclass tomorrow night. (Feel free to pass on that link to whoever might be interested.)
