Terri’s got a post up on the Endicott blog with all the good details of the Winter 2007 issue of the Journal of Mythic Arts, which is now live. The theme is tricksters. Here’s some Virginia Lee to kick things off:
Also on the trickster tip, Terri and Ellen Datlow’s latest anthology is trickster-themed and will be out later in the year, I believe. So be sure to keep an eye out for that.
Or just keep coming back here! ‘Cause I’ll tell ya!
In other news, I have come to firmly believe that New England could use a few good tricksters.
We could also use, you know, a thaw.
It’s twenty minutes after midnight. That is all.
Leland received the following message from our friend Greg Ruth the other day:
“Howdy indeed…
Like a great hulking flat-headed giant electrocuted back to life from sweet oblivion, I’m happy and proud to announce the rebirth of the long neglected and thrown asunder gregthings.com! Aside from the look of things which now look a spot better, I dare say, we’ve also added a great deal more substance to the site including special mini-site to feature exclusive new content surrounding my current project for Graphix!/Scholastic, The Woodland Chronicles. From Conan to Sherlock to Sudden Gravity to Goosebumps you’ll delight in the new art to see, links to visit and videos to watch. We’ve also added a news blog which I swear upon my fevered brow to keep on top of and an all new special message board for everyone to enjoy. There” be games, online comics, stories animations and exclusive material to come down the line as well. Fear not the moth-eaten old site of yore, and come dressed in your finest dandies for your maiden voyage through these newly uncharted waters of visual melodrama. I assure you disappointment will not be one of the three or four emotions you shall surely experience. As always please let me know your thoughts on the site and any questions you may have either through email or the Board. You may visit the site via the same old address or by clicking mightily upon the link below:
Happy New Year!
greg”
Greg is… one of those guys whose work is so good, I get all inarticulate. It’s funny, though… he was a point of early bonding between Leland and I on my last blog, back when Leland was just some guy on the other side of the country who seemed to be reading a little too closely, if you know what I mean. But that’s the thing about Leland — he pays very, very close attention. Ah, but I digress…
Do have a look at Greg’s stuff.
Tone Milazzo had the camera rolling for Chopra and Morrison. And now, it’s on the internet. And now I’m bringing it to you.
You’re welcome.

I can’t imagine meeting one of these dudes face-to-face. He could take you out in a heartbeat.
In other news, Angela is my sister, for those who don’t know. She lives in a gorgeous house in the very green Woodstock, CT. We’re here this weekend getting a marriage license.
Reinhard Zierke took his Brit folk music stuff down. AIGH!
Dude… you’re killin’ me over here…
Seriously, that’s a huge loss to folk nerds like me. His site had everything. Everything. Wanna know why you can find everything on the Internet? Because of guys like Reinhard. Don’t go tellin’ me that I could do a better one. He has a bigger record collection.
I should probably be more sympathetic. I’m a sympathetic sort. But it makes me grumpy, Reinhard — don’t take it personally. It’s because it was that good, OK?
It was that good, and now it’s gone.
Bah.
See what happens? I take some time off, then I get in a mood, and I become a postin’ fool.
I know I’m behind the times on this one, ’cause they got to Rocketship: presenting Indie Spinner Rack, a podcast on indy comics.
At least one of those fellahs is in New York. Bet we’ve both been at Rocketship at the same time, in fact.
You can tell that I’m having a relatively stress-free day at the office today, can’t you?
